Relation with This World
Srila Gurudeva: Dogs are very busy running to one place far away, passing urine, and again returning. If you ask the dog, “Why are you so busy?” They will say, “We have no time at all, we are so busy.” In this way the whole world is busy.These questions should arise in our heart. Be happy in this world, but how can you be happy? Our nature is to be happy, but in this world no one is happy, not even the animals. When we cut the heads of animals and take their flesh, they are not happy. So anyone in this world is not happy. For a little time, with wife and children, with wine and other intoxicants, we feel that we are happy, but that is just ignorance. While sleeping we become ignorant. That is not happiness.
So we are part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, and only by His special mercy we can be happy. We can pray. He is so very merciful, ahaituki, causelessly merciful, because we are His sons and His parts and parcels, and His servants, so He has special mercy. He wants that you should pray to Him and then you will have His mercy. He is so merciful that He showers mercy, but still we do not take it. By the mercy of any pure devotee who has some realization of Krsna, then we can be helped and mercy can come from Him.
It maybe that we will have to come again in another birth, but he will arrange everything for us to practice bhakti from the lower stage to middle stage to the upper stage. Then we will see that all conditioned souls are really the servants of Krsna. All are servants, but now they are unhappy in this world, so they should be treated as the servants of Krsna. There should be friendship and love and affection for them, and we should think how can we help them. All the rivers, mountains, and beautiful scenery is not for us, it is only a garden of Krsna.

Relation with Krsna
There must be some relation with Krsna, and according to that relation, you can serve Krsna. Otherwise you cannot serve. If a man has no relation and he falls down on the road, we can help them somewhat, but we eventually will have to give them up and go away. That is because of no relation. We cannot spend so much money on him. However, if it was your daughter who fell down, then we are willing to spend lakhs and lakhs of dollars on them, because relationship is there.
So if there is no connection with Krsna, then you cannot serve. But if there is relation, such as the feeling that He is my friend or son, or He is my beloved, then we can serve. If there is none of these relations than Guru gives it. As soon as possible we should try to develop this relation from a realized Guru and try to begin serving. Otherwise if someone has no diksa or relation and he is chanting, then his chanting cannot please Krsna because he has no relation. He cannot weep for Krsna because he has no relation, he cannot give up his heart because he has no relation.
