Caitanya Mahāprabhu is the combined form of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. If He would not have descended, no one would have known who Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are; no one would have known about engaging in bhakti to Them. None would have known the glories of Vṛndāvana-dhāma. No one would have known about Rādhājī and Her moods. Caitanya Mahāprabhu invested all His mercy in Rūpa Gosvāmī. Embracing him, Mahāprabhu said, “May all My potencies manifest in you. You must preach what I have descended for.” The length, breadth, and depth of the ocean of devotion cannot be estimated. Rūpa Gosvāmī churned this ocean of devotion and manifested the jewel of Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi. He gave the residents of this world a drop of this ocean of devotion. If Rūpa Gosvāmī had also not appeared, this ocean of devotion would not have manifested.
