IT WOULD BE BETTER TO BE BLIND

I request you to come with me to Vrindavana. The Gopis are assembled in their houses. By their bhava-netra, eyes of transcendental ecstatic emotions, they are seeing that Krishna is going through the forest and playing on the flute – very beautiful Krishna. They are hearing the very sweet voice of the flute, and they are all totally immersed in that. They are discussing with each other, and one sakhi is telling another, “Sakhi! O, what are you doing? Come with me at once. Come on. Don’t delay; otherwise Krishna will go away. I know that the fruit of these eyes is only one. Only one. And what is that? To have a darshana of Krishna. Only this. If you do not have the darshana of Krishna, your eyes are useless. Useless. It would be better to be blind. There is only one fruit of these eyes – to have the darshana of Krishna.

  • Who is In Need of Reform?

“The world stands in no need of any reformer. The world has a very competent person for guiding its minutest happenings. The person who determines that there is scope for reform of the world, himself stands in need of reform. The world goes on in its own perfect way. No person can deflect it even the breadth of a hair from the course chalked out for it by providence. When we perceive any change being actually effected in the course of events of this world by the agency of any particular individual, we must know very well that the agent possesses no real power at any stage…”

  • They are Really our Bandhava

…it is not just a flower we are offering. It is a representative of our sweet, soft, pure, and fragrant heart. We want to make our heart like this and it should be given at the lotus feet of the Divine Couple—Sri Radha and Krsna. We cannot make our heart like this flower, but Gurudeva can come and make it. He will offer it to the lotus feet of Radha and Krsna. He is qualified. Those, who are helping us to be engaged in the service of Radha and Krsna; they are really our bandhava…”

  • It Comes Like a Current

Kṛṣṇa-prema is not a thing of this world. It is of Goloka Vṛndāvana. It comes from Kṛṣṇa to Brahmā, from Brahmā to Nārada to Vyāsadeva, and from Vyāsadeva to Śukadeva Gosvāmī. In this way, it comes like a current that is flowing even today. If this current’s path is blocked at any one point, the flow will not come. Therefore, we have to accept all our gurus. If you accept one but not another, that is like accepting the half-hen logic. “I will only accept what my Gurudeva has spoken and written…

  • Who lifted Girirāja Govardhana?

Who lifted Girirāja Govardhana: Kṛṣṇa or His śakti? Externally, it seems that Kṛṣṇa lifted Girirāja, but Kṛṣṇa did not lift him. He lifted Girirāja by the little finger of His left hand. His śakti is on the left side. Therefore, Śrīmatī Rādhikā is the most worshipable deity of millions of Ramā-devīs, Umā, and Indrāṇī-devī. The possessor of potency cannot exist without His potency. Hence, śakti must also be there. When the śakti of Kṛṣṇa is in an un-manifested state, then She will remain in the heart of Kṛṣṇa. But when the śakti of Kṛṣṇa assumes a form, then what is this form called? This śakti is called Rādhājī.

  • The Topmost Lover in Vraja

So the position of a beloved is more, more, more higher than a husband. So Krsna is the beloved of the gopis, He is not the husband of the gopis. He is the beloved of all the gopis and nagara (hero) is even more superior than a beloved. So He is the nagara of all the gopis and the gopis are nagari (heroine). Especially Srimati Radhika is topmost nagari…

  • Two Kinds of Knowledge

There are two kinds of knowledge: parā and aparā. All the Vedas and its six parts are aparā vidyā. Only the last portions of the Vedas, the Upaniṣads, are parā-vidyā—spiritual knowledge. Although something has been told in the Upaniṣads, the Upaniṣads don’t give spiritual knowledge to the full extent. They don’t contain descriptions of pure love and affection; kṛṣṇa-prema has not been explained. But this has been explained in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. So, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is parā-vidyā. Everything is complete in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
