Mohini and Amrta – 28 April 2017 – Srimad Bhagavatam
Srimad Bhagavatam Class Excerpts
Mohini said, “I am a prostitute. Don’t believe in me. Independent women are like prostitutes. Don’t believe in us. We will smash you, and then the next day, ww will go to another. Don’t believe in women that you don’t know. Have no relation with independent women who have no shyness, who go dancing, kissing, collecting, everywhere. They think human life is like a toy. Don’t believe in them.”
What is she saying?
“You are lusty. Good things come near a good person. Prostitutes will come near a rascal, degenerate person. You think this is good. You think I am God’s gift to you. Therefore, you want to enjoy me. O demons, look! The monkey, jackal, and dogs daily meet with newer and newer mates. In the same way, independent prostitute-like women want new friends every day. They are not happy with one friend. They are like animals, like monkeys, jackles, or dogs, who want newer and newer lovers every day. You are here. I am telling you the reality as it is. Don’t have faith in me.”
In this way, Mohini teased the demons. If a beautiful young girl talks lusty things to a boy, the boy becomes like dry wood, lit on fire, with ghee poured on top. If anyone has a little desire like this, when you pinch them, ah, you will see what happens to them. Where has their cloth gone? No guarantee. Like Siva Thakura before Mohini. They will chase after the girl.
Mohini laughed and allured the demons with her figure, her movements, and words.
The demons responded, “You are honest, speaking truthfully, therefore we have some feeling of faith for you. Those who are not honest will say, ‘I am honest, I am good.’ Those who are really honest will speak their faults as well as goodness.”
The demons said, “Have you come to test us? We are really fallen, but you are great! You can drink all the nectar if you like, or distribute it as you like. Do as you like. We are giving you the amrta.”
They had faith in her now. But there is one problem. When a person becomes quickly faithful, they will also quickly betray you. If there is a little problem, they will turn against you and become your great enemy. Ksane rusta ksane tusta. At one minute they are your friends, and at the next, they want to kill you. Don’t have faith in them. Faith is not such an easy thing. Real faith is a very strong thing. But now the demons were saying, “You are my friend. We have faith in you. Do as you like.”
Why did they say this? To please her. They wanted to please her, make her happy, so that she would come to them, and enjoy with them.
Internally, they are thinking, “We are very strong and strange. We will take you by force if we can. You don’t know us.” They were first speaking humbly, but in a hidden way, there was a threat. People like this are very crooked. LIke a snake. It has a soft and smooth body, but inside there is so much venom. They speak very humbly, but inside, conceal their venomous desires.
The demigods and demons both forgot the nectar, while drinking the nectar of Mohini’s beauty.
Demigods and demons dress differently. Demons dress more arrogantly. They like to wear many ornaments, big crowns, rich clothing, in dark colors, like dark green, black, or blue, and they will decorate their nails, dye their hair many colors, have dreadlocks, and so forth.
