Whose Side Are You On?

After morning class, devotees asked Prabhuji a question about bhaktas sometimes tricking or cheating demons and if this is dharmika or not.

Prabhuji responded. The question is, whose side are you on? Are you on the devotees’ side, or the demons’ side? If you are on the bhaktas’ side, you may have to lie or cheat the demons, but this is pleasing to Krsna. But if you are on the demons’ side, even if you always tell the truth, because you are envious and inimical to the devotees, this is not dharma. Krsna is not pleased. This is shown with verses from the Hari-bhakti-vilasa.

In the Padma Purana it is stated:

arir mitram visam pathyam adharmo dharmatam vrajet
su-prasanne hrisikise viparite viparyayah

If Krsna is pleased then an enemy can become a friend, poison can turn into palatable food, and irreligiosity can become religiosity. However, if Krsna is displeased then a friend can become an enemy, palatable food can become poison, and religiosity can become irreligiosity.

In the Padma Purana the Supreme Lord has said:

mam-nimittam krtam papam api dharmaya kalpate
mam anadrtya dharmo pi papam syan mat-prabhavatah

If sinful activities are committed for My sake, they become pious deeds andif pious deeds are performed while neglecting Me, they become sinful activities.

In Skanda Purana it is stated:

vasudeva parityajya yo’nya-devatam upasate
sva mataram parityajya svapacim vandate hi sah

A person who gives up the worship of Sri Krsna and engages in the worship of a demigod is compared to a person who gives up his mother and takes shelter of a woman from a dog eater’s family.

In the Narasimha Purana it is stated:

satyam satyam punah satyam utksipya bhujam ucyate
vedac chastram-param-nasti na devah kesavat parah

I raise my arms and declare it boldly that there is no superior literature than the Veda-sastras and there is no superior God than Lord Kesava. This is the truth, this is the truth, this is the truth.

The Topmost Love – San Francisco 05 1996 July

The gopīs asked Kṛṣṇa a question after He appeared: “O beloved, we want to ask You a question which You should duly answer. You should properly answer our questions. There are so many persons loving each other and having so much love and affection for each other. What if one loves another person only if he or she loves him or her back? And another kind of lover will love irrespective of his or her lover’s love towards him or her. The third class of lover will be ungrateful and will not love the person, who has offered his heart to the lover...”

Mohini and Amrta – 28 April 2017 – Srimad Bhagavatam

They had faith in her now. But there is one problem. When a person becomes quickly faithful, they will also quickly betray you. If there is a little problem, they will turn against you and become your great enemy. Ksane rusta ksane tusta. At one minute they are your friends, and at the next, they want to kill you. Don’t have faith in them. Faith is not such an easy thing. Real faith is a very strong thing. But now the demons were saying, “You are my friend. We have faith in you. Do as you like...”

Krsna’s Flowers

In opulence, even though there are grand displays of love and devotion, there is not so much sweetness, but where there is mādhurya, or sweetness, there will not be such outward displays of opulence, but such love is so much more pleasing to Kṛṣṇa. So in this month we offer flowers and make kuñjas for śālagrāma, every day we worship śrī śālagrāma and Tulasī, and śālagrāma is placed on top of a lotus flower. In this way, surrounded by lotus petals and other beautiful flowers, we are making a kuñja where Śrī Hari can perform his amorous pastimes with Śrīmatī Rādhārānī. When we...

As everyone heard Śukadeva Gosvāmī speak, they enriched themselves with the nectar of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes. Therefore, everyone became brahmacārīs. They no longer divided their love and affection among others. When a lucky person will hear the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam from the mahā-bhāgavata Vrajavāsīs, he will have the nectar of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes immediately enter his heart. This is the paramparā. Everyone should respect this paramparā; everyone should wait for this nectar to enter their hearts. Śukadeva Gosvāmī glorified Lord Keśava by every syllable. He explained how Keśavadeva is the heart of all the Vrajavāsīs and how...

To Whom To Pray – Harinama-cintamani

If there is no place for the Guru-varga in a certain temple, then Vaiṣṇavas will not go there. Such a place is not really a temple; it is like a hotel or a business center. Similarly, if your heart has no room for Śrīmatī Rādhārānī, svarūpa-śakti, or antaraṅga-śakti, you may be chanting harināma, but only other things will come, not the mercy of Kṛṣṇa. Your harināma will result only in mundane affairs...
