Acaryas Quotes Bhakti Quotes WHO IS MOST FAVORABLE TO KRSNA?

Duryodhana wanted to discover a way to cheat Krsna, and that is why he told this. Dharmic, or religious persons, do not tell lies. They serve their father and mother. They do some chanting to Krsna also, but for their personal benefit. This is also somewhat anukula (favorable) to bhakti. It is not pratikula (unfavorable).

Let us consider Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana, and Sanat Kumara (the four Kumara brothers). They are rsis, or saints. Their activities are favorable to Krsna, but not as favorable as those of Brahma. Brahma is more favorable, but not as favorable as Sankara. Sankara can perform very heartfelt, intimate services to Krsna. He can obey whatever Krsna orders him to do, but Brahma cannot. That is why it was Sankara who Krsna told to preach Mayavada philosophy. No one else was qualified to do this duty, so he is more favorable. Dhruva is also favorable, but not like Prahlada Maharaja. Prahlada Maharaja has no worldly desires. He wants only that all creatures, all souls, go back to Godhead, and he is willing to taste Hell and all suffering for others’ welfare. He is favorable to Krsna, but Hanuman is more favorable than Prahlada. Hanuman serves Rama in every way, but he is not as favorable as Laksmana. Laksmana can sit on the same throne with Rama, but Hanuman cannot. Still, Sita is more favorable (anukulyena krsnanusilanam) than Laksmana.

It is essential for us to understand all these things. Draupadi is more favorable than Sita. Sita is favorable to Rama, but Rama is a plenary expansion of Krsna whereas Draupadi is serving Krsna personally, as is Arjuna and the other Pandavas. Still, Uddhava is more favorable than the five Pandavas and Draupadi. Do you know how? He is Krsna’s advisor, brother, servant, guru, and His all-in-all. Krsna could not send the Pandavas to Vraja to speak with the gopis, because the Pandavas would not be able to understand them, so He sent Uddhava.

Uddhava is the most favorable within the whole of Dvaraka and Mathura, but he is not qualified to be the dust of the gopis’ lotus feet. Every gopi is more favorable than Uddhava. What to speak of the gopis, Yasoda is much more favorable to Krsna – many millions of times more favorable than Uddhava. What to speak of Yasoda, a peacock of Vrndavana, a cuckoo of Vrndavana, and a parrot of Vrndavana are more favorable than Uddhava. Uddhava is not qualified to be even the dust of Vrndavana.

The Only Objective

Svayam Bhagavan Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has given instructions on ten types of tattva to the faithful jivas. Of these, the first is the principle of evidence (pramana-tattva), and the remaining nine are prameya-tattva the subject which is established by pramana-tattva...

The foot dust from the lotus feet of Rādhārānī should be the ornament of your body. Mahāprabhu says, “I cover My body with the anurāga, or the foot dust, which is decorated with kuṁkum, from Rādhārānī’s feet. I will not wear anything not colored with the dust from Rādhārānī’s lotus feet.” Kṛṣṇa also showed the value of this dust. He brought all the sakhās to Varṣāṇā and smeared His body with Śrīmatī’s foot dust. Then His color also became golden. This is called holī-līlā or dhūla-khela. Also in Dvārakā, Kṛṣṇa, with the help of Nārada, smeared this dust on His body, and showed the value of this treasure. Why do we wear white also? White is meant for the paramahaṁsas. Mahāprabhu says, “The saffron colored cloth of anurāga, like Rādhārānī’s foot dust, is a protective barrier, so that no one can come and acquire one’s love.” For Gauḍīyas, this cloth signifies one as being a maidservant of Śrīmatī Rādhārānī. Rādhikā-caraṇa-renū bhūṣana kariyā tanū. Take shelter of the lotus feet of Śrīmatī Rādhārānī. Then you are very great. Why should you go to anyone else for shelter? In this way, Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura advises the rāgānugā-sādhaka. How can you meet with Kṛṣṇa? How can Kṛṣṇa be pleased with you? Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura tells us to only take Rādhārānī’s foot dust. Śrī Bharata Mahārāja said: rahūgaṇaitat tapasā na yāti na cejyayā nirvapaṇād gṛhād vā na cchandasā naiva jalāgni-sūryair vinā mahat-pāda-rajo-’bhiṣekam Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 5.12.12 552 O King Rahūgaṇa, perfection in devotion cannot be achieved unless one bathes in the dust of the feet of great devotees. It can never be gotten by tapasyā, grand worship, renunciation, household dharma, Vedic hymns, or penance under the hot sun, surrounded by fire, or by submerging within cold water. Śrī Prahlāda Mahārāja said in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (7.5.32): naiṣāṁ matis tāvad urukramāṅghriṁ spṛśaty anarthāpagamo yad-arthaḥ mahīyasāṁ pāda-rajo-’bhiṣekaṁ niṣkiñcanānāṁ na vṛṇīta yāvat The lotus feet of Bhagavān Urukrama, who is praised for His uncommon activities, destroy all unwanted things in the heart (anarthas). However, mundane persons cannot be attached to His lotus feet until they cover their bodies with the dust from the lotus feet of great personalities who are absorbed in love of God and who are completely free from material attachments. The foot dust of pure devotees is supremely powerful. One who does not smear his body with this dust can never become purified and clean. In the Bhakti-sandarbha, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī tells us to slowly practice. Take this bhakta-pada-dhūli and the pada-dhūli of the mahā-bhāgavatas and the Vrajavāsīs. Then pray for the foot dust of Rādhārānī.

When we have received connection to the six oceans of Rādhārānī’s divine qualities, then at last we will achieve entrance in to the ‘keli-sindhu’ or ocean of Her divine amorous pastimes with Kṛṣṇa. Once we get a taste of that necturful ocean, we will no longer have any material tastes. We will become like...

He Feared Glorification, But We Desire It

In this world, if guru has some opulence, if he is preaching throughout the world with vast wealth and a good position, then everyone will know of him. Lokanatha dasa Gosvami always desired to remain very far away from reputation, name, fame, and position. If he sprinkled mercy upon someone, he would always tell that person, "Don't glorify me. Let me remain calm and quiet. This is my final order..."

Mischief and Mirth – Govinda-lilamrta

If you have desire for pāramārthika dīkṣā from the eternal world, you must follow the proper process. Take shelter of līlā-śakti. She bestows līlā dhatu sobhaya. She decorates you with goodness, good qualities, good ideas and intelligence to follow the good way. Becoming trained in this process, then you will be like a lotus inside the water without getting wet. You will stay in this world with the body and mind, but will have no relation with the body and mind, and you will have no more relation with those who want to have bodily business with you. You will be separate from all mundane people. By having relation with līlā-śakti, you will continuously drink transcendental nectar. The sad gosvāmīs did not spend time collecting opulence, livestock, gardens and houses. To sustain their lives they ate buttermilk or chickpeas and sometimes fasted. They drank the ambrosia bestowed by līlā-śakti at every moment. Thus they were decorated by līlā-śakti with all goodness. Day and night they were floating, bathing and drowning in līlā-rasa. Now, we have heard something of niśānta-līlā. Kṛṣṇa was resting in brāhma-muhūrta when the time for kuñja bhanga līlā began. Kakkhaṭī, the peacocks, parrots and other animals came and gave news to Rādhā Kṛṣṇa, “The sun is rising, he is not waiting any longer. Please wake and return to Your abodes.” In this world there are many people with antagonistic mentalities. They don’t like the service of God. They want people to follow them. They are very greedy to make one separate from the service of God. Why? “Why are you following God? Why don’t you follow me? I am your parent, your brother, your guardian. Follow me.” All try to steal and make others their slaves. When the sun rises, people get strength from the power of the sun. Where do they use this? They endeavor only to make others their slaves. They learn many processes with this in mind and become very clever. By hook and crook they try to capture you. They give food, lodge, so-called love and affection and all types of mundane help. Then, when you are close and caught, they say, “You are mine, you are in my society, my family.” But after what result comes? Look at that. Think about that. Do they help you gather knowledge of the soul and Supreme Soul? Do they advise you to serve the Supreme Soul? After sometime the mundane body is lost. We become old, devoid of all power, and then our so-called relatives kick us out. When we have no more blood, they kick us out. When we have no more wealth, they kick us out. When we are strong, everyone likes to share our blood and power. As the various animals in Vraja help awake the Divine Couple in niśānta-līlā, pastimes at the end of night, the guru-varga travel around the world, going house-to-house, door-to-door, performing nāma-saṅkīrtana.
