HIS NAME SHOULD BE CUT FROM THE LIST OF DEVOTEES

If your diksa-guru is not giving proper honor to Vaisnavas, then he is not even a devotee. His name should be cut from the list of devotees. We must try to give honor to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s followers – and even to the followers of Sri Ramanujacarya, and those who are serving Laksmi-Narayana and Dvarakadish, although not the same respect as we give to ekantika-bhaktas of Krsna. We should give honor to the devotees of Krsna who are chanting and remembering, and at the same time try to know the gradations of devotees. If one is serving only Krsna, and if one is serving Radha-Krsna conjugal, and if one is very near and dear to Srimati Radhika, who will be given more honor? Of these three gradations of devotees, who is superior?

We should try to understand these gradations, otherwise we will see that Krsna, Caitanya Mahaprabhu, ordinary bhaktas, Srila Rupa Gosvami, Srila Haridasa Thakura, a Ramanuja bhakta, and a Dhruva-bhakta are all the same. We need to differentiate. A kanistha-Vaisnava cannot differentiate, and therefore our gurus have come to tell us, “You should not remain third-class kanistha-Vaisnavas.”

It is essential that we hear all these things and develop in our bhakti, so that we can clearly understand who are kanistha-Vaisnavas, who are madhyama-Vaisnavas, and who are uttama-Vaisnavas – who are conditioned souls and who are above conditioned life. Srivasa Pandita and Gadadhara Pandita came to this world, but they are not sadhana-siddha. They are eternal associates of Krsna. Haridasa Thakrua was both Brahma and Prahlada Maharaja.
But who was Rupa Gosvami? He was Rupa-manjari. In this lila, Rupa Gosvami used to take the foot-dust of Haridasa Thakura and Srivasa Pandita, but he is far, far, far superior to them. We should know all these truths.

Who preached more the heartfelt conceptions of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in this world? Rupa Gosvami or Haridasa Thakura? Haridasa Thakura spread the holy name, and he was namacarya, but Rupa Gosvami was Mahaprabhu’s life and soul. He gave us all the books that were the heart of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, such as Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu and Ujjvala-nilamani.

How can we know all these truths without good association? If someone bans this and tries to stop others from going to qualified Vaisnavas, how can they themselves develop? Chanting alone will not suffice. Only chanting under the guidance of any good Vaisnava can take us to perfection.

Verse 3: Stages Leading to the Appearance of Prema

By the association of sādhus whose attention is not incessantly and exclusively drawn upon the Lord, and in whom śraddhā, rati and prema have not arisen, the conditioned soul cannot be turned towards the Lord, nor can śraddhā, rati or prema develop in him. By the association of sādhus who are attached only to the rituals of proper conduct that are in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Vedas, bhagavad-unmukhatā (attentiveness towards the Lord) and śraddhā, rati and prema cannot arise...

Our Business is Not to Enjoy – But to Help Krsna to Enjoy

We are all prakrti. And because, being prakrti, we are trying to become purusa, that is called māyā, or illusion. Just like if a woman dresses like a man and wants to act as man, that is illusion, similarly, we are differently dressed in the material ingredient, bhumir apo nalo vayuh. Everyone’s body is mad for these five material elements of the mind, intelligence, and there are also the subtle material elements. And with this combination we have gotten this body, and I am the spirit soul. I am trying to enjoy. This is material world. We have forgotten that we are part and parcel of Krsna. Our business is not to enjoy but to help Krsna to enjoy. That is our business, part and parcel.

In Preparation for Love’s Feast – Govinda-lilamrta

...On the evening of the princess’s marriage, many people came for the feast and celebration. So many preparations were cooked, and everything was presented in many bowls and plates to the guests. They made many drinks, sweets and different dishes. When all the guests sat down to eat, they looked down at their plates and saw everything was sand and bits of stone...

"SPIRITUAL EYES"-ONLY GURU CAN GIVE

If someone has lost his eyes and goes to an expert kavirāja, he can give new eyes and enable one to see again. This is called cakṣu-dāna. Similarly, the conditioned soul has no spiritual eyes. Guru-pāda-padma therefore gives his own spiritual eyes and the eyes of scripture and sādhus.

The Philosophy Of Oneness and Mixed-up Religion

Some philosophers do not believe in the soul's natural knowledge. Nor do they completely believe in material logic. Others, accepting the idea of the soul’s natural knowledge, believe in one God. Filled with various mental speculations, they take shelter of a rapt trance of meditation. However, their meditational trance is not the real thing. It is only a trick. In their pretended meditation they pretend to break through the walls enclosing the material world and then they pretend to see the world of spirit. Why is their meditation only a pretense?...
