“The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self.”
Srimad-bhagavatam 1.2.6

The explanation of the word parama-dharma can be understood by Srila Rupa Gosvami’s verse defining uttama bhakti. We should follow this parama-dharma of chanting, remembering and meditating on Lord Krsna. Hari-katha (The naration of the Pastimes of Lord Krsna) is very powerful. Krsna has invested all His power in His name and His hari-katha. In fact, hari-katha is Krsna Himself. In the form of harinama (Krsnas Holy Name) and hari-katha, Krsna comes in your heart. You should strongly believe this. He will purify you of the greater part of your anarthas very soon. Then naistiki-bhakti will come, and after that the knots in your heart (hrdaya granthi) will be gone.

“Thus the knots of the heart and all misgivings are cut to pieces. The chain of fruitive actions, or karma, is terminated when one sees the self as master.”

“As soon as irrevocable loving service is established in the heart, the effects of nature’s modes of passion and ignorance, such as lust, desire and hankering, disappear from the heart. Then the devotee is established in goodness, and he becomes completely happy.” Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.2.19

If you do not understand you can question me, and this question and answer period is called istagosthi. My door is always open, to hear any questions and to reply them.
Srimad-bhagavatam has described how Sri Vyasadeva engaged in this uttama-bhakti-yoga and was thus able to see the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

“Thus he fixed his mind, perfectly engaging it by linking it in devotional service [bhakti-yoga] without any tinge of materialism, and thus he saw the Absolute Personality of Godhead along with His external energy, which was under full control.”
Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.7.4

He saw Lord Krsna with all His associates, such as Sridama, Dama, Sudama, Vasudama, Stoka-krsna, Nanda Baba and Mother Yasoda, as well as Lalita, Visakha, Citra and all other gopis. He saw all the pastimes Krsna performed with them. The previously mentioned verses are the essence of the entire Srimad-Bhagavatam. If you will follow bhakti, you will also be able to see Krsna with His pastimes, and associates – and all your doubts and questions will disappear.

“Uttama bhakti is the cultivation of activities that are meant exclusively for the benefit of Sri Krsna, in other words, the uninterrupted flow of service to Him, performed through all endeavors of the body, mind, and speech, and through the expression of various spiritual sentiments (bhavas). It is not covered by jnana (knowledge aimed at impersonal liberation) and karma (reward-seeking activity), yoga or austerities; and it is completely free from all desires other than the aspiration to bring happiness to Krsna.”
Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.1.11

The word uttama-bhakti is in this verse, so there must also be some lower classes of bhakti – mixed with karma, jnana, yoga, severe austerity and so on – and historical examples of devotees in those stages have been given in Srimad-bhagavatam.
We should especially know that service to Krsna with mamata, a sense of “mineness” towards Lord Krsna, is uttama-bhakti, and the increase of mamata in service places a devotee in successively higher stages.

WHAT IS THE HIDDEN MEANING OF SNANA-YATRA?

Snāna-yātrā is the appearance day of Jagannātha, Baladeva, and Subhadrā in this form. As they heard this vraja-kathā, and the glories of Śrīmatī Rādhārānī’s love, They melted in separation and became manifest to the world in the form of Dāru-vigraha (wooden deity). The queens heard this vraja-kathā from Rohiṇī Mātā. How does she know of this? Kṛṣṇa and Baladeva are like...

Pt.3 HOW IDEAL WAS THE LIFE & CHARACTER OF GAURA KISHORA DAS BABAJI?

March 1912 All of you are the servants of Śrī Kṛṣṇa-Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa. I am your servant. All of you have named me as ‘Śrī Gaura Kiśora dāsa.’ Please bestow such mercy upon me that no spot of infamy will ever blemish this name that you have causelessly bestowed upon me. If any infamy is incurred, then you will feel ashamed of yourselves in Śrī Vraja-maṇḍala and Śrī Gauda-maṇḍala. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has bestowed the thirty-two syllable, sixteen name mahā-mantra to the residents of this world. You should write this mahā-mantra clearly on a paper, and then, while seeing these names, you should chant the mahā-mantra and the other mantras (which you received at the time of initiation). May you not look at any object of this world of Māyā...

Who Is Our Most Worshipable? – 24 Feb 1997 Bali, Denpasar

Caitanya Mahaprabhu has come to give only this thing, the gopis’ prema. He came and gave so many things, all rasas, but especially He came only for this. So if by hearing all these things a devotee will develop a greed for the highest topic of prema like the gopis, then he will come in the line of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Otherwise if he only wants to be in dasya then he will have to go in Ramanuja sampradaya, or to Madhva or Visnu Swami or Nimbaditya. They will not come in the line of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. So for this reason He came and gave nama prema [verse 10.00] Caitanya Mahaprabhu gave nama, plus this prema, only this prema. When He was going through the forest from Jagannatha Puri to Vrindavan, all the animals were crying and weeping and chanting Krsna and they received prema. What type of prema?

Fresh Nectar – Govinda-lilamrta

First, Kavirāja Gosvāmī gave this Caitanya-caritāmṛta, so that common sense, consciousness, could come. After drinking this Caitanya-caritāmṛta, a taste will come for chanting God’s holy names and residing in God’s holy dhāma, and for all programs of bhakti. Then, by chanting nirguṇa harināma, Kṛṣṇa’s rūpa will manifest in the heart. One will understand what is helpful in this world -- the dhāma and bona fide Vaiṣṇavas. All realization will come. Then one will not be cheated by the dramatic cheaters of this world. One will make a relationship with God’s glories, the Vaiṣṇavas and the dhāma. After that, one can understand His svarūpa. Otherwise, mundane rūpas come to us without any invitation and make our hearts polluted. Then we are contaminated. This is called anartha, not paramārtha. After rūpa appears, guṇa will follow. God has 64 special qualities. The demigods have only fifty-five. The incarnations of God have sixty, and ordinary living entities can have up to fifty. These fifty will come if you are a little clean. . . these qualities come in the heart, one after the other. At that time, others will not be able to catch and keep you nearby. You will be uncontrolled by others and will not be their slave. Willpower will come. When God’s qualities come, willpower will come. Otherwise, one is always pushed down and without help, having no strength.
