IF THERE IS SUCH CRYING FOR KRSNA, THEN THAT IS REAL SADHANA

We have read that only once in his entire life did Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami laugh. While he was reading Srila Rupa Gosvami’s Vidagdha-madhava-nataka, his tears were falling on the hand written pages and smearing the ink. Seeing this, Rupa Gosvami asked for it back, but Raghunatha dasa clutched it to his heart and refused to return it.

Therefore Rupa Gosvami composed the Dana-keli-kaumudi very quickly, and after reading only a few verses of it, Raghunatha dasa began laughing. Otherwise he remained crying for Krsna throughout his entire life. If there is such crying for Krsna, then that is real sadhana and one will certainly receive His darsana, just as in the case of Bilvamangala. Presently we may be engaged in only the semblance of real sadhana, abhasa, but if even in this stage of sadhana-abhasa we feel so much joy by hearing and speaking this katha, then just imagine how much ananda we will feel when we enter into real sadhana!

Two Kinds of Durgā

There are two Durgās—Yogamāyā and Mahāmāyā. Yogamāyā is beyond this material world. She does not control the material worlds, but controls those who like to serve Kṛṣṇa. She descends as Yogamāyā and gives much energy and strength to the devotees, who wish to realize Kṛṣṇa. But, the shadow of Yogamāyā is called Durgā, Mahāmāyā, who can give facilities for the soul’s desires of sense gratification. And this desire for happiness and pleasure in this world is illusory. She cannot give spiritual happiness, peace and tranquility. This has been declared...

IS YOUR BHAJAN TAKING YOU TO RADHARANI'S SEVA?

“O Śrīmatī Rādhikā, I am always remembering Your attractive and beautiful face. Whoever remembers Your face is supremely fortunate. The essence of all good fortune is simply the remembrance of Śrīmatī Rādhārānī.” Ordinary people think that they are lucky if they have a nice wife or husband, good cars, big houses, or many followers and temples. But this is not good luck. Real good fortune is to always be with Rādhārānī. The greatest misfortune is to take the fruits of our offered service and run away from Vraja with them. Many people come to guru and receive nāma-dīkṣa. Then they go far away from their guru and practice, but because they lose their connection to guru by not serving him and maintaining a relationship with him then instead of becoming greatly fortunate they fall into deep misfortune. They are so unfortunate because having received the greatest opportunity they wasted their golden chance.

WHO ARE WE? – WHERE DID WE COME FROM?

“One may ask,” Gurudeva said, “why did the living entities manifest—for what purpose? The living beings are a manifestation of Kṛṣṇa’s śakti. Mahāprabhu proclaimed, with supporting evidence from the scriptures, the philosophical conclusion of śakti-parināma-vāda, the transformation of Kṛṣṇa’s energy, not Kṛṣṇa Himself, into the living entities and material world. During the Rāsa dance, Śrīmatī Rādhikā expanded Her form into the eight sakhīs, then into the principal 108 gopīs, then into 16,108 gopīs, and then into countless gopīs. All these gopīs are expressions of Śrīmatī Rādhikā’s myriad moods of love and desire to serve Kṛṣṇa. They are all unique and individual. It is from svarūpa-śakti, ultimately, that all jīvas manifest, and they appear simply for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa. Every soul is unique.

Sri Advaita Acarya

Today is the birthday of Advaita Acarya. He is very powerful, as can especially be understood by the fact that He brought Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to this world. Otherwise, there was no certainty when Caitanya Mahaprabhu would come. Krsna, in the form of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, wanted to come; but if He would have come by His own sweet will,..

Punishment and The Do or Die Attitude

People who don’t have tolerance think, “Everyone is hating me, torturing me,” this is your sentimentality. Then bhakti and bhajana is not possible. You must be serious. Have a do or die attitude. This is diksa. Diksa is not a simple thing. Just taking a mantra and then doing as we like is not diksa. Real bhaktas have the do or die attitude. They are very serious like this. Whatever may happen, they will never give up...
