No one can taste Krsna’s beauty as the gopis do. What is the reason? Only in Vraja, where Krsna’s rupa-madhuri, lila-madhuri, ve u-madhuri, and prema-madhuri are all present, is He overpowered by the prema of His associates. Of the many devotees there, none overpower Him as the gopis do, and amongst them, Srimati Radhika overpowers Him the most.

Concerning this point, Sanatana Gosvami has written a special philosophical conclusion in his commentary to this verse. As he said before, Sri Krsna, the source of all incarnations, performs unlimited pastimes in unlimited dhamas, but the pinnacle of His madhuri flows in Vraja and nowhere else. Because the anuraga of the residents there is forever increasing, the entirety of His sweetness is exhibited there. Krsna is madhurya, sweet, but if the gopis were not there, His sweetness would not reach its highest point. No other devotees can experience yavadasraya- vrtti, which is a special characteristic of the gopis’ mahabhava.

To the degree that there is love for something, it can be tasted, and if there is no love, it cannot really be tasted. The meaning of yavadasraya-vrtti is that the gopis’ prema reaches as far as and even further than anyone can possibly describe it. If you stretch a rubber band it will snap at a certain point, but their prema, and only theirs, increases unlimitedly. Therefore they alone fully relish the rasa of Krsna’s four types of madhuri.

The detractors of Guru and Vaiṣṇavas cause great harm to the world by their actions. They must be corrected. But one must be qualified, or he can cause more harm than good. Jīva Gosvāmī not only defeated the mundane views of antagonistic scholars, but he also changed their hearts and turned them into devotees. As Madhvācārya, Ramānujācārya, Viṣṇusvāmī, and Nimbāditya Ācārya and so forth, made their critics understand the true conception of their respective philosophies, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī established everyone in the firm foundation of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava siddhānta. Jīva Gosvāmī was an unparalleled scholar of the Vedānta. Once, an ācārya from the Viṣṇusvāmī sampradāya showed a composition he had made called Tattva-dīpa to Jīva Gosvāmī. Looking at it, Jīva Gosvāmī raised many points on the true purport of the Vedānta, and revealed the flaws in the book. On the advice of Jīva Gosvāmī, that ācārya made many corrections in the book. Śrīman Mahāprabhu relieved Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya from his affiliations to Māyāvāda, and turned him into a dedicated follower of pure bhakti. Thus, Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya became established in the eternal servitude of Bhagavān. A proud, unqualified person, who is devoid of paramārtha (spiritual wealth), will work to destroy the world and himself by his exhibition of mundane learning and logic. Changing such a person's nature is an act of true kindness. But one must be highly qualified to do so. (CLICK on the Title to read the full article)

Verse Two, Damodarastakam

Mother Yaśodā watched as her naughty child cried bitterly and rubbed His eyes with both His hands. The black ointment from around His eyes mixed with His tears and spread everywhere. Seeing her son with His eyes full of fear at the sight of the stick she was brandishing, Yaśodā took Him by the hand and began to gently reproach Him in order to instil fear in Him...

Introduction to Acarya Kesari

It is said that the grandfather is much more affectionate than the father. We surrender at the lotus feet of Acarya Kesari Sri Srimad Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Gosvami Maharaja, whose preaching has helped to save us from a dark destiny and to bring us towards the light. We humbly pray that he will bless our very feeble efforts to serve his beloved disciple Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja, his dear Godbrother and sannyasa disciple Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Svami Maharaja, and our whole Gaudiya vaisnava parampara.

For The Appearance Day of Sri Sri Radha Ramana

Anyone who is taking shelter of Sri Sri Radha-Krsna and pure Vaisnavas should not worship demigods. Rather, they should worship and serve Rupa and Sanatana, Yamuna, Govardhana, Radha-Kunda, Syama-Kunda, Vrnda-devi, Lalita and Visakha, and others of their caliber...

If we desire prema-sevā, divine loving service, we will make a firm vow to Śrīmatī Rādhikā and Her prominent sakhīs like Lalita-devi, Viśākhā, Rūpa Mañjarī, and so forth. We will pray, “I will not take shelter of any other. I only seek and wait for Your blessings and mercy. I will only associate with those who similarly seek Your shelter and who have vraja-niṣṭha. I will sternly avoid any other association.”
