If Anyone Takes Shelter of a Mahat-puruṣa

You should know, if anyone takes shelter of a mahat-puruṣa and worships Kṛṣṇa, and meditates on Kṛṣṇa, then Kṛṣṇa will mercifully sprinkle His mercy, and all that person’s desires will go away. Then he will be a pure bhakta. If he wants, even if he still has worldly desires, Kṛṣṇa will smash all his worldly desires. You cannot imagine. In mahat-puruṣa sāṅga you can realize something.

Those who have attended mahat-sanga have taken bath in all kinds of tīrthas; they have done all kinds of austerities and given all kinds of donations. All these fruits cannot be compared with a particle of the glories of the holy name. So, you should have strong belief and chant:

Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare
Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare

A sādhu mahat-puruṣa is very calm and quiet; without any worldly desires. You should pray, “Oh, Kṛṣṇa you should give me mahat-sanga, then my life will be successful.”

Learn from Sakhas – The True Wealth of a Sadhaka

After taking some breakfast from their mothers, they leave for the forest and remain there until around three o’clock in the afternoon, when they return home. They stay with Kṛṣṇa in the forests and gardens everyday for approximately six hours. They have great fun with Kṛṣṇa, but also, endure many difficult and dangerous circumstances. Many demons attack them in the forest. The sakhās have deep faith in Kṛṣṇa, so they never fear anything. For example, they did not get disturbed when they went inside the mouth of Aghasura...

One day, Prāṇa Gopāla Gosvāmī gave a blanket to Śrīla Bābājī Mahārāja to protect himself from the winter. When Śrīla Bābājī Mahārāja wrapped it around himself during the night, he felt a little sleepy. On the next day, he took the blanket and while returning it to Prāṇa Gopāla Gosvāmī, he said, “Gaura Kiśora doesn’t have prema for your blanket. This blanket made me sleep for the entire night and didn’t let me do bhajana. Therefore, you should keep it with you.” On another day, a person gave Bābājī Mahārāja a shawl. Śrīla Bābājī Mahārāja folded the shawl and kept it hanging from his bhajana-kuṭīra. When someone asked him why he did so, he said, “By seeing that I have a shawl, the winter will not come near me. It will run far away...”

Caste Consciousness

In fact, gurus would advise their disciples: “Take the association of these most exalted Vaisnavas, and in this way you will develop your Krsna consciousness.” There was no caste consciousness as there is today: “Don’t go to other Vaisnavas, even though they may be very high-class. This is our party, and that is their party, and that is the other group’s party.” At that time there was no party spirit at all; everyone belonged to the family of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. All used to hear from all...

Once, in the late 1970’s, with Srila Gurudeva, during Nrsimha–caturdasi in Devananda Gaudiya Matha, a huge storm came in the evening, after we had been performing kirtana and programs, and fasting the whole day. It was such a huge storm, and all around our temple, everything was destroyed. The buildings and trees were all blown over.

What has Hanumana Done? – Radlett, U.K. – 16 May 1996

So, Hanuman’s service to Rama was incomparable, but he cannot go to Vrindavana. He cannot go. Why? If he sees Mother Yasoda disciplining her son, Krishna, Hanuman will think, “My Lord is being disciplined?” Thinking so, he will be upset. With his club, he might do something wrong. If he will see that in the groves of Vrindavana, Srimati Radhika and the gopis order Krishna and tell Him, “Come on! Come on...!"
