United Nations. Buddha. Guṇḍicā mandira-mārjana

...It also refers to the United Nations. Those who are supposed to be the most intelligent persons in the world combine together as part of the United Nations. This is also called mithunī-cāriṇāṁ. Males and females also combine together, but this is not the important point in this śloka. The important point is that although all the world leaders try to cooperate in combined effort, they have yet to see happiness...

Seeing Beyond The Perception Of The Senses

"O son of Kunti, only the engagement of the senses with their objects gives rise to the sensations of cold, heat, pleasure, and pain. But these effects are temporary; they come and go. Therefore, O Bharata, you are to endure them." Regarding this verse of the Bhagavad-gita, one scholar, a Mr. Chatterjee, has explained this Sanskrit word matra to mean "what is measured by our senses, the result of our senses' measurement..."

Kumbha Mela – Book Distribution

This year Kumbha Mela is happening in Vrindavan. Usually Kumbha Mela happens every 12 years mainly in Prayag, where Yamuna, Ganga and Sarasvati merge and people gather there to take bath in the holy rivers. The main activity in Kumbha Mela is the pilgrimage, to come to the holy place, and to bathe in the holy river. Mela means festival, and Kumbh means a pot. The main theme in Kumbha Mela is getting the pot of nectar.

Aparā Ekādaśī

Aparā Ekādaśī tells her followers, “I will do an operation and surgery. I will not give anyone the chance to go the wrong way. I provide them with the support by which they will return to the right path. I will give them much energy and enthusiasm. They will never lose sight of me; they will never lose their bhajana and bhakti...”

For the welfare of the living entities in material existence, this wonderful pastime of Dahi-chidwa-mahotsava was manifest in this world. By this lila, the tendency to engage in bhakti is obtained, as well as the qualification to enter the realm of bhakti. In a natural manner, Lila-sakti attracts the jivas and immerses them in the transcendental nectar of bhakti-yoga. If this was not so, then how, even after 550 years, is this festival of Dahi-chidwa-mahotsava being performed all over the world?
Mahaprabhu is very kind. Now He is present in Navadvipa-dhama, at Srivasa Angana. He desires to make a place for there to be respect and faith in the hearts of people. If there is external, but not real, respect, then that respect will soon be destroyed. When faith and relationship is strong then you will be nearby Mahaprabhu and never nearby maya. Otherwise, you will follow Mahaprabhu for some time but then start to follow others and become contaminated...
...The greatest fight in this world is over objects of sense enjoyment. This kind of fight is only over lust. As long as the seed of lust remains present in the heart, the living entities suffer. This is the disease of the heart. The foolish living entities believe that they will become happy by satiating their lusty desires through insignificant sense enjoyment...

Gurudeva Katha

Is There any Difference between Iskcon and Gaudiya Matha?

“The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is started for this purpose, so that hundreds of ISKCON centers may give people a chance to hear and chant, to accept the spiritual master and to disassociate themselves from persons who are materially interested, for in this way one can make solid advancement in going back home, back to Godhead...”

Srila Gurudeva Speaks on Vyasa-puja – 08 Feb 1997

Nowadays I am seeing that gurus sit on a golden throne and think, “I am Krsna myself.” They collect all the honor for themselves, and they think that there must be any good Vyasa-puja book for themselves, otherwise Vyasa-puja is not there. They want that all glorify them, whether they are good or bad, whether they are bona fide guru or not. This is not Vyasa-puja...

Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā. Verse 16

...The original form of pure existence in its transcendental constitutional state has no sense of self-conception separate from the Supreme Person Bhagavān. The symbol of separate self-conception, or the separate existence that emerges in this material world, is exemplified by the male generative capacity. This is a mundane reflection of the original pure spiritual existence. This liṅga, the emblem of the male generative capacity, is Ādi-Śambhu. He unites with the receptive principle, which is a transformation of Ramā-devī in the form of the yoni or womb of material existence. At this time, Śambhu is the material cause by dint of supplying the raw material substances for creation. When each universe...

Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā. Verse 15

...What did Śrī Mahā-Viṣṇu do next? In answer to this question it is stated, vāmāṅgāt: “He manifested Viṣṇu from His left side, Prajāpati from His right side and Śambhu from between His eyebrows.” Brahmā is the creator, Viṣṇu is the maintainer and Maheśa is the destroyer of all the universes. The form of Śrī Viṣṇu in each universe directs His own expansions in the form of Brahmā and Śiva, and as a result of this impetus, Brahmā is absorbed in the task of creation, and Maheśa is absorbed in the task of annihilation. In this context one should understand the term prajāpati (primal progenitor) to mean Hiraṇyagarbha-Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu...
